"I feel the SRM is a great motivator, indicator of fatigue, and marker for improvement. It helped a lot having Hunter explain the data to me [using TrainingPeaks WKO+ for data analysis] so I could understand it for myself and how it correlates with peaking for my performance."

Arielle Martin, the 22-year-old BMX bike racer, is on the fast track to Beijing - literally. Training on the BMX course in Chula Vista, CA, an exact replica of the course in Beijing, she hits 38 mph coming down the first ramp, which is three and a half stories high. The thrill of riding such a course is the main reason Arielle loves her sport. "Its the biggest adrenaline rush ever to charge down that ramp at almost 40mph to hit a 30ft jump. Life just cant get any more fun than that..."
With a degree in Exercise Science, Arielle recognizes the importance of using technology to train. "I have always found technology useful to my training, as an Exercise Science Grad I know the importance of modern day technology to sports performance so I always used a bike computer and HR monitor during my workouts." More recently, Arielle has teamed up with Peaksware and Hunter Allen, founder of TrainingPeaks WKO+ (formerly CyclingPeaks Software) and author of Training and Racing with a Power Meter, to improve her use of training technology even more. "Meeting Hunter and getting my hands on an SRM took that to a whole new level."
