Nutritonal Preferences

The Nutrition Preferences allow you to set up the values that TrainingPeaks will use to calculate your daily caloric recquirements and calories burned for each workout.

Using the calculators on the right side of the screen.  You can calculate your resting metabolic rate, average daily calories burned, or calories burned per workout.

Your resting metabolic rate can be determined by entering in your age, gender, and weight. Average daily calories burned depends on your activity level, and calories burned per workout depends on both the type and duration of the workout.

Just click the button that you would like to calculate for, fillout the required information and click Calculate. You can also manually set your mealtime preferences as well as your Calories Burned per Hour by sport.

TrainingPeaks utilizes the following calculators for RMR:

  • Harris-Benedict Formula for gender, height, weight, and age
  • Katch-McArdle for lean mass
